Day 2 – Thursday | Optional Abu Simbel & Kom Ombo Temple
For those wishing to experience one of Egypt's greatest archaeological treasures, an optional early morning excursion to Abu Simbel is available by road or domestic flight (additional cost).
Discover the magnificent Temples of Abu Simbel, built by Ramesses II in honor of himself and Queen Nefertari. Carved directly into the sandstone cliffs overlooking Lake Nasser, these monumental temples were carefully relocated during UNESCO's famous rescue project following the construction of the High Dam.
Return to the cruise and begin sailing north toward Kom Ombo while enjoying lunch onboard.
