5 Day Cairo, Luxor, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Aswan and Abu Simbel

Early in the morning, a short flight takes you south to Luxor, once the mighty city of Thebes and now home to some of Egypt’s greatest archaeological treasures.

Your adventure begins on the west bank of the Nile, where the Valley of the Kings lies hidden between rugged hills. Descending into the tombs, including the world-famous tomb of King Tutankhamun, you walk through history, guided by vivid wall carvings and vibrant colors preserved by time. A stop at Howard Carter's house, the man who discovered Tut's tomb, offers insight into one of archaeology’s greatest stories.

Next, you climb the terraces of the magnificent Temple of Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s most extraordinary queens, before marveling at the towering Colossi of Memnon. By afternoon, you cross the Nile to visit the majestic Karnak Temple, a sprawling complex of colossal columns and sacred shrines. The day ends with a magical walk through the Luxor Temple, glowing softly under the evening lights.

You rest tonight in a 4-star hotel in Luxor, still echoing the voices of the ancients.

After breakfast, you begin your scenic journey to Aswan, traveling along the fertile Nile Valley. Along the way, two spectacular temples await.

First, you visit Edfu Temple, dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god. The temple, remarkably preserved, feels like a portal to the past. Its towering columns and detailed reliefs immerse you in myth and ceremony.

A short ride later brings you to Kom Ombo Temple, uniquely built to honor two gods—Sobek, the crocodile god of fertility, and Horus the Elder. Overlooking the river, the temple’s symmetry and mystery are captivating. Nearby, you’ll even spot preserved crocodile mummies in a small museum.

Arriving in Aswan, you’re welcomed with a hearty Egyptian lunch before visiting the impressive Aswan High Dam, one of Egypt’s modern engineering marvels. Then, a peaceful boat ride carries you across the Nile to Philae Island, where the enchanting Temple of Isis awaits, beautifully framed by water and sky.

Your day ends in a lovely Aswan hotel, where you prepare for the highlight tomorrow.

Before sunrise, you set off across the Nubian desert toward Abu Simbel, one of the most awe-inspiring monuments of the ancient world. As the sun rises behind the dunes, the temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari emerge from the rock—massive, intricate, and completely unforgettable.

Standing before the seated colossi of Ramses II, you can almost hear the chants of ancient ceremonies. Inside, the sacred halls lead to the sanctuary where the sun aligns only twice a year—an extraordinary feat of ancient astronomy and architecture. You also learn how UNESCO rescued and relocated the temples to save them from the rising waters of the Nile.

After this soul-stirring visit, you return to Aswan Airport for your flight back to Cairo, where you settle in for a final night in your familiar hotel, reflecting on the wonders you’ve seen.

Your last day in Egypt brings you back to where it all began: Cairo. But there’s still much more to explore.

Your guide takes you to the Egyptian Museum, home to the dazzling treasures of Tutankhamun and countless priceless relics from Egypt’s dynastic past. Every artifact tells a story, every room reveals another chapter of this incredible civilization.

Next, you ascend the Citadel of Salah El-Din, where the elegant Mosque of Muhammad Ali stands with sweeping views over Cairo’s minarets and rooftops. Then it’s time for one last adventure: a stroll through the vibrant Khan El Khalili Bazaar. Here, you barter for souvenirs, sip mint tea, and absorb the energy of a city where ancient and modern worlds meet.

At the end of the tour, you’re escorted to Cairo International Airport, carrying memories of five incredible days that felt like a journey through 5,000 years.
